This collaboration with TED.ed resulted in posing viewers with a complex and enduring question: what is the line between art and vandalism?
While studying new and emergent literacies at the University of Michigan, I became interested in understanding one of the oldest literacies to date: graffiti. In studying its complex history that dates back to the Roman empire, I became fascinated with the affordances of such a medium in today’s world. Upon completing extensive research, I consulted with TED.ed to write the script and provide recommendations to a team that included the director, animators and voice-over actors.
