Kelly Wall
My experience teaching at public, charter and independent schools for over 15 years has provided a foundation upon which I have learned about school cultures, and what makes them unique, dynamic and culturally responsive. Whether learning in the mid-West or teaching on the East and West coasts, I have garnered a unique set of experiences around what it means to teach and learn. These experiences have demonstrated the constraints and affordances of school and given me the tools and experience to reach and engage learners around the world.
My learning design is based on various theoretical approaches that are grounded in constructivism and cognition. With vast new media capabilities, I’m interested in leveraging the best practices from the classroom and designing a learner’s experience with new and emergent technologies.
I have partnered and consulted with various organizations including Arizona State University (Digital), Educurious and LearningMate to:
Develop and lead engaging professional development opportunities
Write student and teacher facing curriculum
Analyze and apply best practices to align curricular scope and sequence
Coach subject matter experts to implement learning designs that increase engagement, accessibility and comprehension in virtual learning environments
Promote diversity, equity and inclusion through culturally responsive teaching and learning standards
My expertise in understanding the learner and the teacher make me ideal at partnering with educational stakeholders, solving problems, writing original content, iterating new designs and bringing a thoughtful focus back to the learning goals.
