Digital Media and New Literacies
It’s been said that “media is merely the vehicle that delivers instruction (Richard Clark). ” However, it is increasingly important in a more digital world to understand the affordances and constraints of media, particularly if learning is going to occur.
With this in mind, I designed a curriculum that surveyed how graffiti, an old literacy, could empower students and make them more conscious learners by connecting the past and present form and functions of graffiti across time.
